BRYAN ZEPO

Written by Ricky Carroll

The Wall FC won promotion to the OBDSFL Senior Division after finishing 2nd in the Premier Division last season. They have adapted brilliantly in their first season in the senior division. Any team that wants to be successful needs a goalscorer - and The Wall has the current OBDSFL top scorer in Bryan Zepo. Zepz is a manager's dream. He's a goalscorer. He has the ability all good strikers have, being in the right place at the right time. At the time of writing, he has 18 goals in 18 games for The Wall this season. Averaging a goal a game is impressive - but to do this in one of the most competitive leagues in Sunday league football is a brilliant achievement. Bryan is a potent weapon in the air for The Wall, as proven with his towering header against Se Dons. He is a constant threat always looking to run in behind, which is a nightmare for any defender. He is also comfortable playing with his back to goal and backing into the centre backs. He is not afraid to shoot from any angle. As mentioned he is comfortable with his back to goal, but his ability to run in behind is a potent weapon for The Wall when they need to play it long. No defender wants to be running back towards their own goal - and Bryan realises that and is always available to run in behind and exploit any weaknesses in the opposition backline. Zepz has scored all kinds of goals for The Wall, but my favourite was his 2nd goal in the recent 3-2 win over Kenningwell. It personified everything he is about - with Jay picking up the ball in midfield - he peeled off the defender's shoulder for Jay to thread a beautifully waited through ball. Once through on goal, he didn't panic and slid the ball past the on-rushing goalkeeper. In addition to his outstanding performances for The Wall, Zepz has been in superb form for his Saturday team Lewisham Borough, scoring 20 times in 34 matches. The Wall FC has developed into a feared team in Sunday league football in a short period. They have one of the best club structures in place - with chairman Percelle Ascott and their three dynamic coaches - Sayce Holmes-Lewis, Sian Fitzpatrick, and Leon Wright. With all these influential figures getting the team prepared and a striker as lethal as Bryan Zepo - The Wall is destined for bigger and better things.
